Black currants and red cherries are succulent and soft in this deeply ripe yet elegant Pinot Noir. It's plush and fleshy, but crisply balanced by raspberry acidity and delicate notes of tea leaf, violet petal and crushed graphite. Soft, feathery tannins make the wine welcoming young but it should improve through 2035 and hold further still.

The black cherry and blackberry flavors are framed by earth and tar accents, which work in tandem with the rustic tannins. There is intensity and grip, with a lasting impression of ripe fruit notes. Best from 2023 through 2032. 845 cases made, 40 cases imported.

The 2019 Chassagne-Montrachet Les Chênes (Rouge), coming from tank, feels very tight and a little broody on the nose, maybe because it had just been transferred. The palate is medium-bodied with juicy, ripe red and black fruit, good acidity with a rounded, dark cherry and blackcurrant finish that feels silky smooth. Enjoy this over the next 4-6 years.
